Once a
cardboard casket has been delivered and signed for, the customer
must check for shipping damage. Any damage must be reported within
4 business days.
After
this time, the sale is closed.
The
following instructions and rules for a return are the only ones
that will be used. They have arisen from years of doing online business,
following a strict code of ethics and using common and fair business
practices.
They are fair to both the customer AND the merchant alike.
The
tremendous majority of customers are wonderful, but there are always
those that think they were born on a throne. It is because of these
few that the following rules and requirements have been set.
The
rest of you, please do not be offended, and know there is a story
behind each one of these rules:
- The customer
MUST call (or email with confirming reply) so that a return number
can be issued with the shipping company, and the package picked
back up from your location. This will be done at our expense.
- Do NOT send
a package back to the Matthews address. It is an office, not a
warehouse. A casket returned to the Matthews location WILL be
charged a 20% restocking fee.
- Please do
NOT simply send a package back. We may not know who it is from,
and you may not get a refund. Without that call, you may be sending
back your casket!
- Warning:
a package sent back without a call number and charges reversed,
or any instance where the customer reverses charges without getting
permission for a return will hear from our collections agency.
- Pack your
cardboard casket back up as best you can. If you have the original
shipping carton, all the better.
- In all instances
and with no exceptions, we will receive our goods first before
we will issue a refund. Again, a customer who initiates a chargeback
during this time will hear from our collections company.
- To review:
Call us, shipping company will issue a return number, ready the
item for return shipping, we will call you back, shipping company
may call for directions or confirmation, package is picked up,
your package will come back here, and if it is unused and in good
condition, a refund will be issued to your card in full.
- If you are
granted a courtesy refund outside of these rules, as if often
the case, please pay return shipping. That is only fair.
- Abusive returns
are rampant and will NOT be tolerated! For example, a coffin is
used as part of a buffet for a halloween party and is then sent
back for a return. All returns are inspected, and we WILL know
if it has been used. If it has been used it will be sent right
back without refund.
- Finally,
have patience. Returns are made involving 3rd and even 4th parties.
Reminders from customers are always welcome and appreciated if
to much time passes. It helps me to help you!
